Landscape Services (Grounds)

Grounds staff is proud to have been honoured with the 2006 President’s Award of Excellence for outstanding service to the University. Full-time staff, augmented by student gardeners and contracted services, perform both ongoing landscape maintenance activities and landscape construction projects.

Sustainability practices are used to maintain a haven of diverse ecosystems and wildlife. McMaster’s abundant natural lands provide a unique university setting and opportunity for study.

Public safety is also a primary concern, with attention paid to creating year-round safe and accessible roadways, paths and open spaces for the campus community.

The Campus Master Plan emphasizes the creation of compelling spaces, areas where people work, play, study and relax.

Expandable List

Facility Services is introducing a new way for staff and students to learn more about all the beautiful trees that populate our campus. We have created a map (McMaster Campus Tree Map) where you can choose a specific tree on campus and learn information about it, such as common name and status.

We have also created an interactive map of amenities on McMaster’s campus such as outdoor seating and tables, composting and recycle bins, and bicycle racks.
