McMaster University manages building access through an approved authorization process which is intended to allow door entry and exit to authorized users only. Access to campus space is controlled in some instances with keys (see Key Control Policy), and some with electronic access, for which this policy will apply.

A Key Control Policy is to establish reasonable personal security for members of the University community and to ensure the protection of personal and University property through the control of the distribution of keys.

The fume hood checklist is to be completed by the Lab Supervisor before entry for repair / service.
