Back to Mac: Facility Services team members share about working on campus during the pandemic
What can we learn from those who have been on campus throughout the pandemic?
Multiple Facility Services team members participated in a McMaster Daily News photo story where they were asked about this exceptional time on campus and what advice they have for those returning in the Fall. Their perspectives reflect how this group of on-campus workers had a vastly different experience than those who remained at home, and they offer some insights into how to approach coming back in the Fall.
Most shared about how the COVID-19 safety measures in place on campus are robust. Some shared with pride about how their contributions are preparing for the safe return to campus for more people this fall. Others emphasized their gratitude for their team members and collaboration that occurred between teams to help get the job done.
Overwhelmingly, these valuable members of McMaster’s community shared that they are most excited about being together again and how much they are looking forward to welcoming you Back to Mac.
Thank you to the team members from Grounds and Landscaping, Parking Services, Maintenance and Trades, and Utility Services who shared their insights into what this time has been like on campus with the rest of the McMaster community.
Other members of McMaster’s community who continued to come to campus for work, including graduate students and researchers, and team members from Hospitality Services, Housing & Conference Services, Athletics, and the Nuclear Reactor also shared their perspectives in the photo story. This is not an exhaustive list of every team who continued to come to campus to work or study during the COVID-19 pandemic, and instead provides a small sample of the collective experience.
